You might remember this photo of a commission I am working on
that I showed a while back
.
My friend Patti loved how it looked at this stage.
So much so that she wanted a copy of it to frame.
So, after a bit of jiggery pokery in photoshop, we decided that this
was how it should look for framing.
As it was coming up to her birthday, I kind of ignored it after this and hoped she'd forget about it.
Because I wanted to get it matted and framed as a present of her.
You can't really tell in this photo of it but it is 11'' x 14''
I think it worked really well and would never have thought to do this.
Now I just have to get one for me :-)
Well done, woman! It is actually quite you :). So much possibilities, you can also add colours and depict a new season :)
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I often regard miniatures as art too :).
Gorgeous, Tallulah!! I love silhouettes and black and white prints...I really love how good it looks framed!
ReplyDeleteI can see why she wanted it framed! It does look really good and I like it lots! Mini's are works of art...!!

ReplyDeleteQuite me...ya think :-) I do really like it but would never have thought to do it.
I like the idea of changing colors too.
I'll look at my minis in a completely different light now :-)
Thanks Gagan.
ReplyDeleteI have a big thing about silhouettes and black and white as well. I am pleased with how this worked with the grey matting and aged black frame.
Thanks Michelle
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I wasn't sure of the idea at first but once I did it I love it too.
She is a lot more artistic than I am :-)
It looks fabulous, Jayne. :) I think it would make wonderful notecards as well. :) Always interesting to see things through the eyes of others.

ReplyDeleteA wonderful present. So thoughtful I am sure she will be delighted
ReplyDeleteSo cool! I love your tree adn how smart to turn it into an image! I'm thinking a print in mini would be cute, too!!
ReplyDeleteSo I've been catching up on my blog reading and came across your leaves! WOW!! That's a lot of leaves, lol!!! I need to do the same for Marshmallow Manor...I know this is a dumb question/favor...but how U do that?? Did you use a punch? They look really good!! :)
Katie
Wonderful way to capture your artful tree! It looks beautiful framed!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first told you how very much I liked the raw form of the wire 'tree' I never dreamed it would become my own work of art! I will always treasure it.
ReplyDeleteThe ideas of changing colors for the seasons and making notecards from it are brilliant! :-D
Wow, I love what you done with this, it looks wonderful. It would also work brilliantly as a piece of stitched blackwork. Fabalous, you think of so many clever ideas :0)
