For My Mom

He would have been 75 today.

Every year on his birthday thousands of fans visit Graceland for a big celebration. With a wind chill factor of only 5 F (-15c) degrees I feel for those die hard fans that are gathered outside there today.

Here is a clip of Elvis at his very best...in my opinion :-)





My Mom fell out with her best friend over the Love Me tender movie.

It was 1956 and she had just turned 13. Banned from seeing the movie, yet requiring a parent to accompany them, my Mom managed to talk her way into becoming the' daughter' of a stranger in line. Her friend did not and never forgave her.

And on that note, I am going to put BBC radio on and listen to Elvis all day. Mick will sure be glad he isn't working from home today :-)

    I remember visiting Graceland! What an experience... I just remember staring at all his cars... esp the pink ones in awe. I think at that time I didn't know people could get cars in Pink! Enjoy your day of Elvis in memory of your mom! hugs, ara

    The whole experience is pretty impressive huh...even if you aren't an Elvis fan it is well worth a visit.

    Love the clip Jayne. I loved him best really early on but I remember being a kid and watching elvis movies with my nanna who was a big fan :0)
    my favourite was GI blues which I must have seen a thousand times and still love,

    Have I ever told you, Jayne that my dad could sing like Elvis? Really. "Wooden Heart" & "Love Me Tender" were my 1st Elvis' songs , cover versions from Daddy.
